Hi i live in fleetwood lancashire (near blackpool) & i have been accepted on a apprenticship and blackpool and the fylde college ( bispham campus) and i am currentley looking for a place of employment i have phoned round all the local nurseries and pre-schools and i'm having no look,
i'm hoping to stay local as i have a little boy myself.
so i was wondering of any where that i could contact maybe any nursersies you know of who are looking for apprentices???

First of all congratulations on getting an Apprenticeship, we hope you find it an enjoyable way of getting qualifications and work experience.
We don't actually know of any nurseries which provide work experience for Apprenticeships in your area so we suggest that the first place to start is to talk to people in your department at the College because they may know of pre-schools and nurseries which regularly provide placements which will save you time and your phone bill.
If College can't help then you can contact nurseries direct and ask. Here we've listed all the nurseries we can find from various sources e.g. Yellow Pages, and websites such as http://www.surestart.gov.uk, http://schoolsfinder.direct.gov.uk, http://www.daynurseries.co.uk, some of which you may already have spoken to. We've covered Fleetwood, Thornton Cleveleys and Blackpool. You can also check for apprenticeship vacancies on
http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/Be-An-Apprentice/Vacancies.aspx but there were none in your area when we looked, and we're not sure how comprehensive it is.
If you're unsuccessful in finding an employer by the time you start your Apprenticeship ask at your department at the College about a Programme-led Apprenticeship. This is an alternative where you begin your studies at College and get some work experience before finding an employer who can offer you the full range of work experience for your course.
We also suggest you contact the Student Support & Guidance Services at the Bispham Campus. You tell us that you have a child so they'll be able to tell you about the College Nursery facility if you haven't already got regular childcare, and check that you are getting all the financial help, including help with childcare costs, that you'll be entitled to whilst doing your Apprenticeship.
