at what age can a person be convicted of a criminal offence

This varies between countries but in England the age of criminal responsibility is 10 years which means that a ten year old can be convicted of a criminal offence. Depending on the severity of the offence the child might get a reprimand for a first offence, or final warning for a first or second offence. Alternatively they might receive an ASBO or ABC or individual support order. Further offences or more serious offences could lead to appearence in the Youth Court Section of the Magistrates Court or the Crown Court for sentencing.
