Q2A

Got a quick question ......

i was wondering if you give the contraceptive pills to girls under 16 without parental permission, and if so how would i get it.

This is our reply.......

We're sorry but we don't give out the contraceptive pill, we're an enquiry service.  However, the contraceptive pill is available to girls under the age of 16 without their parents' permission from young people's sexual health clinics. As we don't know which town you're in we can't tell you where your nearest clinic is but you can find out by ringing Worth Talking About, 0800 28 29 30, open every day 2pm - 10pm or search their website:

http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Talkingaboutsex/Pages/Ineedhelpnow.aspx

When you go to the clinic they'll ask you a few questions to make sure that you understand what contraception is all about, and what's involved. There's information about confidentiality at:

http://www.brook.org.uk/my-rights/sexual-health-services/confidentiality

If you're unsure which type of contraceptive pill to choose, they'll tell you all about the different types and help you to decide which will be best for you.
