Education is the process by which people learn knowledge and develop skills e.g. learning to walk, to talk, the subjects people study at school, the skills people gain at work. It is also the word that describes the knowledge and skills gained e.g. the education people get at nursery, school, college, university. It can also describe a particular type of learning or skills e.g. careers education, driver education, a university education, home education.
