Q2A
Got a quick question asking......
where to get the information to make a resource file with young people?
This is our reply.......
Firstly you and the young people need to decide what sort of resources you want information on in your resource file. Is it going to be a range of information on different topics or information on just one topic? This will affect how much work and money will be needed.
Then you need to decide if you want paper resources or if you are going to provide
weblinks. You need to decide how you are going to store the resources and how you will keep them up to date. You also need to make sure that the information you hold in your file will be accurate. Will young people need to look at it on site, or will there be copies they can take away? Will it all be written or will there be other formats for people who find words difficult, and when/where/how will the resource file be available to young people? Two more things to think about are how you will protect yourself from claims that you've given poor, insufficient or wrong information and are you sure you aren't duplicating a service that's already available in your area?
We hope this is helpful.
