QuickQ2A Question: What is LHA?
Quick Q2A Answer: This stands for Local Housing Allowance, its paid to the tenant not the Landlord. The local council sets this rate for the amount they will pay as housing benefit for people in privately rented accommodation. It is based on the tenant and their needs, not the property they want to live in, so the amount may be more or less than the actual rent. For example the LHA for a single person over 25 years old is around £75 a week.
