QuickQ2A Question: What is swine flu?

Quick Q2A Answer:  Swine influenza is a disease in pigs. The virus A H1N1 currently transmitting directly among people is now generally referred to as swine flu although the origin of the disease is still under investigation. There is no evidence of this strain of the disease circulating in pigs in the UK.   It's symptoms are very similar to ordinary flu, its important to cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, using a tissue and to throw the tissue away quickly and carefully.  Wash your hands regularly with soap and water and clean hard surfaces like door handles and remote controls frequently with a normal cleaning product.
