Its like I'm pregnant.

Hi Monika

Thank you for your message; we are concerned to hear that you are pregnant and that you
are just 13. Are you sure you are pregnant? Have you had sex, have you missed a period
and most important - have you had a pregnancy test that has been positive? If so, the
next thing to think about is what you should do about the pregnancy. This is a big
decision for any woman, but particularly so at such a young age. You need people you
can talk your options through with. We hope you can talk to your parents / carers, but it
might be that you prefer to talk to an adult at school, or another adult relative or friend
instead. You could talk to your local Young People's Worker or a nurse at your GP clinic
or young people's sexual health clinic. Any of these people should be able to help you
talk with your parents too. At the end of all the discussions it should really be your
choice about what you do, and it is likely that other professionals you don't yet know
might become involved, like social workers, because of your young age. They will
probably want to talk to the person who got you pregnant too. But please don't be
frightened or worried about other people knowing - they will only be trying to help you do
what's best for you.
