Q2A

Got a quick question asking......

hi i was wondering if u can get pregnant if u have unprotected sex while ur periods are
starting? even if the guy didnt cum?

This is our reply.......

If you have sex without using contraception, you can conceive (get pregnant) at any time
during your menstrual cycle, even during, or just after, your period.

You can also get pregnant even if you have never had a period before, during your first
period, and the first time you have sex. Sperm is released before ejaculation in pre-cum
(a clear fluid), so even if the man doesn't come, or pulls out before he comes, pregnancy
can happen.

But contraception is free, and to know where to get it locally, if you are in Lancashire, text
the name of your town to 077 66 36 33 90 for info on local clinics. This will also give info
on where to get emergency contraception (best taken within 72 hours of sex) and free
pregnancy tests which are most accurate 3 weeks after unprotected sex. If you are not in
Lancashire then please contact us again giving your location and we will post the info in
the Answer Bank for you.
