Q2A
Got a quick question asking......
what are the signs of pregnancy?
This is our reply.......
The most obvious sign of pregnancy is a missed period although a shorter, lighter bleed
can also be an indicator - it can happen when the embryo embeds in the womb. Other
signs can be:
- a need to wee more often
- tender or sore breasts
- feeling sick or actually being sick, usually called 'morning sickness' but it can happen at
any time of day
- going off certain foods or getting a metallic taste in the mouth
- increased vaginal discharge due to changes in hormone levels
The only way to know for sure is to have a pregnancy test. To get the most accurate
result do the test 3 weeks after unprotected sex. You can get free, confidential pregnancy
tests at young people's clinics, if in Lancashire text the name of your town to 077 66 36
33 90 for info on local clinics.
