Q2A
Got a quick question asking......
about training to be a mental health nurse
This is our reply.......
From September 2013 you will need to study for a degree to become a nurse, the Diploma
will start to be phased out from 2011. The entry requirements for a degree course at the
moment are 5 GCSEs, grades A*-C including English and a science, and 2 A Levels but
you'll need to check this again nearer the time you apply. There are no minimum entry
requirements for the Diploma but 5 GCSEs, grades A*-C are needed.
There is a list of universities which offer the mental health nursing degrees, and their entry
requirements, at http://www.ucas.com, use the 'course search'. If you haven't got access
to the Internet your local young people's advice centre or your local library, and they may
also have a copy of the UCAS Big Guide which you can look at.
