Q2A

Got a quick question asking......

basically, if a boyfriend and girlfriend split up and one of them sleeps with someone else should they tell the other person if / when / because they might get back together again?

This is our reply.......

Basically, you werent together when you slept with the other lad so it can't be classed as
cheating on your ex. And if you aren't together there is no reason to tell your ex anything
about your private life since you split. If you do get back together again, thats a different
matter - honesty in relationships is important, but there is also an argument for not hurting
someone you care about by telling them things that will cause them upset. But that
needs to be balanced against how many people might know, will word spread, and how
likely is it that someone else would tell your ex when / if you were back together again?
Thats the tricky one to work out, but to return to our original point, there is no requirement
for you to tell your ex anything at the moment and no reason why he should be upset
about it as you were not a couple at the time. Please don't forget to protect yourself
