Q2A

Got a quick question ......

from a young person who thinks they might be pregnant and needs help.

This is our reply.......

If you think you are pregnant because you have had unprotected sex, if you are still within
72 hours of that then we suggest you take the emergency contraceptive - you can get that
from your GP, a young people's sexual health clinic, family planning clinic or a local
chemist if they provide that service. It will be free from all those places. You can also buy
it at chemists or supermarkets for about £26.

If you have missed your period, or the due date is imminent, you can take a pregnancy
test and get an accurate result. You can have this done at your GP, or a sexual health
clinic for free, or buy a kit for about £6. If the test does prove positive don't panic, contact
us again to talk through your options, or you can talk with the staff at any of the places we
have suggested.

Good luck.
