Q2A

Got a quick question asking......

Hello if your child is been bullied at school by teachers what will happen to the teachers if
they are found out to be bullying children? and if the principal is not doing anything about it
to stop this, he is just taking the teachers sides.

This is our reply.......

Bullying is a serious issue that causes misery and distress to the victim, therefore it
needs to be challenged and addressed wherever it appears in society. If a child is being
bullied at school, particularly if this is being done by a teacher, the school has a
responsiblity to stop this. If the principal is not acting on evidence of bullying in the school,
we recommend that you contact your local education authority (LEA) as they have
responsiblity for all schools within your area. For a contact number for your LEA phone
directory enquires, undertake an internet search or look in your local phone book. For
further information and advice you could also contact the National Bullying Helpine on
0845 22 55 787, open Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm Saturdays 10am - 2pm.
