Q2A

Got an enquiry ........

you know when modern warfare technology was approaching which country or countries
were feared by the rest of the world that they would act out of aggresion anyway towards
countries that don't have militaries which made the whole world decide to have modern
warfare technology is well

This is our reply.......

Hi

We're not sure what you mean by 'countries that don't have militaries.' Most countries
have some sort of military organisation and, if they feel that other countries have a bigger
or stronger military set-up than they have, they will try to get hold or or develop weapons of
the same strength so that they can defend themselves if threatened or attacked.

Modern warfare usually refers to the period from 1945 onwards. During what was called
the Cold War (1945 -89), the United States of America and the USSR (what is now
Russia) no longer trusted each other even though they had been allies during the Second
World War, and each built up their military organisations including nuclear weapons.
America was the first to test a nuclear weapon in 1945, followed by the USSR in 1949.
Similar feelings of mistrust led other countries to develop their own nuclear weapons: the
UK in 1952 and France in 1960 broadly in alliance with the USA against the USSR, China
in 1964 possibly mainly to defend itself against the USSR.

In the 1970s India tested its first nuclear weapon in 1974 which probably prompted the
smaller country of Pakistan to do the same in 1998.

It's not known officially whether Israel has nuclear weapons but the suspicion that they
may have may be behind Iraqi and Iranian attempts to develop their own nuclear weapons.

North Korea first tested it's own nuclear weapons in 2006, maybe because it feels
threatened by the USA and its allies.

Although nuclear weapons are the most feared, countries will try to catch up with other
technologies as well such as fighter planes, missiles etc.

We hope this is helpful.

Best wishes from q2a.
